Steven Tyler

Steven TylerThe band was on Boston's club circuit . They were guided by Frank Connelly their first manager. They began working together with Steve Leber, David Krebs, New York managers. In 1972 they signed a recording agreement and debuted their first album. The album was then followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This brought Aerosmith worldwide fame and recognition. These albums had famous hits like "Dream on", "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's five first albums all had multi-platinum status. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. However, as the decade wore on the hectic lifestyle of performing, recording, being together, and taking substances began to take its toll on the band. Tyler and Perry were often called the Toxic Twins, for their notorious consumption of stimulants and heroin. Their relationship is well documented in many of Aerosmith's videos and in the Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler Perry, who was evidently more committed to the band was able to feel resentful towards Perry's passiveness and admire Perry's focus on females in his life. The gradual decline of Aerosmith was most likely caused by the tension between Tyler and Perry and their once-friendly companions.
